International School of Communication Design (ISCD), of Beijing Normal University,
Zhuhai, aiming at the features and needs of contemporary communication and new
media design, combines and assimilates the essences of the one-century-old education
tradition of Beijing Normal University, the world-famous German vocational education,
and the long-standing British academic education.
It adopts the international education partnerships consisting of China, Germany,
and the United Kingdom, and aims to train communication designers with great originality
in art design and knowledge in multiple cultural backgrounds and market demand.
The school's curriculum is worked out together by Beijing Normal University,
Zhuhai, Design Factory International GmbH, Hamburg, Germany, and the School of
Art, Design and Media, University of Portsmouth, UK. Foreign teachers teach some
professional courses, and participate in the education administration of the school.
In 4 years ISCD plans to enroll nearly 1,000 students from China, including Hong
Kong and Macau. Graduates, with multiple cultural backgrounds and language ability
of mastering more than one foreign language, will be qualified for specialties
of DPT operation, art director, multimedia design, graphic design, etc. for advertising
agencies, publishing houses, motion picture production companies, media agencies,
newspapers, TV stations, and other media organisations, companies or enterprises.
